Behind the Scenes & Bloopers of EPIC Christmas Battle

Hey, guys!

So this is weird for us, but we've posted two videos in the same week! Or within the same week, I guess I should say. This video is a compilation of the bloopers and behind-the-scenes moments that we captured during the shooting of our latest video "EPIC Christmas Battle!" This video is longer than the main video because we make a lot of mistakes, and we usually have a lot of funny things happen while we film. We hope you enjoy watching this video!

EPIC Christmas Battle Video!

Hello, everybody!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays (to those of you who don't celebrate Christmas). As our gift to you, we are pleased to present (pun sort of intended) our newest video! It's Christmas themed, it's funny, and it's EPIC. Check it out!

We hope you are having a fantastic holiday/Christmas season, and we also hope that you enjoyed the video.:) We know, it's got some continuity issues, and it's really dorky, but we love the finished product.

What do you think of the new video? Did it make you laugh?

Vlog: Disneyland! Is It Really the "Happiest Place on Earth"?

Hey, everybody!

We went to Disneyland about a month ago, and if you follow us on Instagram, you would have seen some of the pictures we took while we were there. Here is a video of the things we did while we were there, and we added our own twist to the typical vlog by adding a fun feature.:) You'll have to watch to see!

Instagram and Vlogs!

Hey, everybody!

So, we've got some pretty cool news for you all. We opened up our official Instagram account! We added the link to our social media gadget on the sidebar of the blog, and we've included it above. If you're interested in seeing some snapshots from our day-to-day lives or want to see some behind-the-scene type things from our videos, definitely go follow us there!

Also, we have a new video for you! We filmed a vlog of our day at the book release party for Lodestar, the fifth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger. If you have never read or heard of these books, well... GO GET THE FIRST BOOK!!! They are some of our favorite books, and we greatly recommend them to anyone looking for a really creative and phenomenal story.

Also, here are some extra photos from the launch party that we didn't put in the video.

Tables set up...

The cover art for all five Keeper books!

Selfie time!

Here are some pics that our mom took of us vlogging while waiting in line. This is what is going on behind the camera.:)

And lastly, here's a picture that Shannon had taken from the launch and posted to her Instagram

Have you ever read any of Shannon Messenger's books? Are you interested in reading any of them?

Sneak Peek of New Video!

Hey, everybody!

So, we have been working on another video for your eyeballs to enjoy.:) We got into costume and started filming last week, and we made it through probably half of the shooting period. So it's coming along! We wanted to film some more today, but I don't think it's going to happen since the lighting is weird. Because we're expecting rain soon, the sky is overcast. Boo for bad lighting, hurray for rain!

To give you guys a little sneak peek at what is in the works, we took some in-costume selfies! Check 'em out!

Do you have any idea what we could be up to? Any thoughts about why we're dressed like this?

What Do You Think?

Hey, guys!

So, I was just thinking, Emma and I have made a lot of different types of posts over the years. We've made videos (which we are going to continue doing. It's so fun!), we've done outfit posts, hair and beauty tutorials, photo shoots, vlogs, and who knows what else! We've dabbled in a lot of different things, and I was just wondering...

What are the things that YOU (yes, you) personally get excited to see that we posted?

Do you like photo shoots and outfit ideas, or do you enjoy our silly videos (like Running Shoes, the one we just posted this past week)? Do you have any ideas for things you would love to see us do (Emma note: LIKE CHALLENGES?!)?

Emma and I both have a lot ideas for new videos we would like to make, because as of right now, we enjoy making videos more than actual blog posts. But I thought it would be super fun to hear what you all have to say! I personally love hearing from all of you and seeing what it is that you enjoy the most on our blog or our YouTube channel.

I know that Emma and I don't do the best with blogging regularly, so I want to apologize for that. We haven't quit on the blog or anything, we just really only post when we have something to share with you! And posting more regularly might happen a bit more once we settle into a rhythm of the types of content we make. So please, do share with us what it is you love about our blog and videos, and even tell us what you don't like!

Disclaimer: if you say you don't like something that we particularly love doing (like making funny videos, our Smuggler's Bounty unboxing videos, etc.) we probably will not alter our performance in that area. When we find videos and things we love to do, we aren't likely to stop producing that kind of content.

Thanks for reading! I hope to hear from you all soon!

Running Shoes - Short Film

Hey, guys!
I'm so excited to show you the new video Emma and I made together over the past couple weeks. It took a ton of work, but we're very happy with how it turned out. We hope you enjoy this short film style of video, and that you'll let us know what you think in the comments section!

So, what did you think?:)

Smuggler's Bounty: Death Star Unboxing!

Woohoo!!!
I just finished editing our new Smuggler's Bounty unboxing video! I'm so excited, because this video is kind of different from the ones we've posted in the past. I hope you guys enjoy it, and that it was worth the extra days of waiting. Be sure to let us know what you think of the new editing style!
This month we received the "Death Star" box. The unboxing is within the first four minutes of the video, and then we end up rambling about Star Wars for the rest of the time. I would recommend that you stay till the end though, because there are some pretty funny parts in the second half of the video.;)
Check it out!

If you want to sign up for the November box (it's Rogue One themed!), then visit Smuggler's Bounty to be added to the mailing list! And if you want us to make more videos about Star Wars (or if you have a different idea for a video you would like us to make), let us know by leaving a comment down below. We'd love to hear from you. :)

Apologies... And Our First Vlog!

Hey, everybody!
I'm so sorry we haven't kept you updated more thoroughly over the past month or so... Emma and I both are bad at this apparently. But we have a new video coming up soon that we shot yesterday.:) It's Smuggler's Bounty time! However, I have to edit the video together, and that tends to take me awhile, but I'll try to get it up ASAP.

In the meantime we have this video to show you! Emma and I shot a vlog about our day of sewing, froyo, and such.:) We hope that you enjoy the video! Watch all the way to the end for a deleted scene/blooper. Let us know if you like vlog videos so we'll know to keep bringing you along on our adventures (even though this vlog wasn't so adventurous per se).

See you soon with our Bounty box video!

Blind Makeovers & Our Four Year Blogiversary!

Hi, everyone!

So, today is a very special day... It's our four year blogiversary! On this day four years ago, I made my very first blog post. It's crazy, I can't believe that! If you go back to my very first blog post, my mission statement was very different from what it is today. This blog has evolved a lot (changing the name and style, adding Emma on as an author), but there is still so much more for Emma and I to discover when it comes to producing content for you to enjoy. We're still in the process of nailing down our "brand," and we have some things in the works right now that we're hoping will go over well with you when it does come out. So just hang in there!

In celebration of our four years on the blogisphere, Emma and I shot a video for you. We're giving each other blind makeovers! It's a really funny video (if I do say so myself) because we both end up looking crazy. Personally, I think my favorite part is when I see Emma's makeup after I'm done with it. Let me know what your favorite part is!

I just want to say thank you to all of our followers. We appreciate each and every one of you, and we're so thankful that we have such lovely people who enjoy what we have to offer. Which makes me wonder, what posts/videos do we make that YOU enjoy the most? I'd love to get some feedback from you, and see if we can incorporate some more of the things that you all enjoy into our blog or YouTube channel. Like I said earlier, Emma and I do have things in the works that we haven't told you about yet, but I would still love to hear about the things you all personally enjoy reading/viewing here.

Thank you all so much for your support! We love you guys!
Here's to a new year of blogging!

My Casetify Phone Case Arrived!

 Hey, everyone!

I didn't tell you about this before, but I designed my own phone case about a week ago, and it came in the mail today! I was so excited, and it turned out so beautifully. It fits my phone really nicely, and the quality of the photos on it is terrific.

If you want to purchase your own custom case from Casetify, use my custom link embedded in this post. If you purchase a phone case using that link, then I will earn a bit of a credit towards another product from Casetify. I can't recommend this phone case enough. It came faster than I expected (around 4-5 days shipping), and there are a lot of different templates you can use to design your own case. You can use your personal pictures in the template, or you can create an artsy collage like I did. Or if you don't feel like making your own case, then check out their large selection of pre-made designs. Casetify also offers custom designs for more than just iPhones. They also have templates for iPads, Macbooks, Samsung Galaxies, and even Apple Watch bands.

And for your viewing pleasure, here is my reaction video to seeing my case for the first time!

I hope you enjoyed the video and the post! Thanks for taking the time to read the post/watch the video.:) Do you think you'll order a custom case for yourself?

Go Follow Us On YouTube!

Hi, everyone!
Short post today. I just wanted to say that if you haven't subscribed to our YouTube channel yet, I highly recommend that you do so. Emma and I will be posting videos on there that are exclusive to YouTube, so you won't see them uploaded here on the blog. I posted a new video there just today, so go check that out!

3 Tips to Add Some Pizazz to Your Braided Hairstyles

Hey, everybody!

I took this picture of my braided hair a while ago, but today it inspired me to share three quick tips with you about how to add some extra pizazz to your braided hairstyles.

1.) "Pancaking"-- This is a technique where you pull apart the braid just a bit to add some extra volume. You start off with your hair braided normally, and then you pull at both sides of the braid to kind of poof it out. If you're confused by my description, I can make a video and show you how to do it. Just leave a request below! (and in case you're wondering why this technique is called "pancaking," I have no idea. Maybe because your hair is as flat as a pancake beforehand?)

2.) Add an accessory! -- You can add a little unique flair to your 'do by adding a hair clip, a headband, or even a hat. I chose to use a sparkly star clip at the base of my braid in the picture below (look at my reflection in the mirror). It's kind of an unexpected placement since most people tend to wear their clips on the side of their heads.

3.) Frame your face -- Pull out a couple stands of hair around your face to add some framing. This also gives your braid a softer, lived-in look. A braid without any wisps of hair around your face can look severe and boring, so I definitely recommend giving this a try!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and that you gleaned a few new ideas to use the next time you braid your hair. So tell me, do you like wearing braids in your hair?

Bouquets & Bumblebees

Hi, everyone!

A couple weeks ago, I got to do something I've wanted to do for a long time. I got to buy myself flowers from the farmer's market! Have you ever read this quote that says, "So plant your own gardens and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers"? I love that saying. I read it for the first time a few years ago, and as soon as I read it, I wanted to buy myself flowers. I always figured I would do it someday, but I never actually planned it out. The day finally came though! Check it out.:)

I really enjoyed having the flowers sit on my desk for the week. They really brightened up my room and added some fun color. I got sad once they started to wilt, but I'm also excited to go back soon and buy some more!

P.S. Have you ever wanted to buy yourself flowers?

Smuggler's Bounty Unboxing -- Jabba's Palace

Hi, everybody!

Woohoo! I'm so excited, because we've got a new video all ready for you! Are you ready for a new "Smuggler's Bounty Unboxing" video? Check out what was in the box this time!

If you want to order your own Smuggler's Bounty boxes, check out their website. Emma and I always look forward to getting our boxes in the mail. It's a highlight to our day!

To visit our new YouTube channel, you can click through the video or check out the link. All of our old videos are still on our original channel, but I am thinking about staying on that channel and just renaming it. I won't bore you with details, but it would be easier for me to post these videos if I just use our original channel. I don't know though... I'll keep you updated.

And, as promised, here is the picture I took in the beginning of the video of our video setup. The way we film our videos isn't very "professional" or anything, but it works! We stack books and boxes on top of my dog's crate, and this time we used two juice boxes to prop up my phone to record the video. It's nuts.:P

I hope you enjoyed the video! Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Hipster Photoshoot

Hi everyone! Emma here!
A couple weeks ago, Kendra did my make up and hair, then we did a photoshoot.:) I put on my glasses and one of Kendra's sweaters to make me look "hipster-y".;) I hope you like the photoshoot.:)

Kendra had wanted me to have a book, so I chose "Get Happy" by Mary Amato. It's an awesome book, I totally recommend it.:)

For my make up, we tried to do a sort of Adele look, I really liked how it turned out.:)

For my hair, Kendra did a messy bun!:)

***
Being in a sweater really made me want winter back, since I was really hot in it. I can't wait for winter- boots and sweaters again! My favorite.;)
I hope you guys liked the pictures.:)

P.S. Check out the time lapse of my makeover below!

Changes Coming!

Hi, everyone!

I'm just writing to let you know to expect some changes on the blog over the next little while. Emma and I are playing around with the design, so you'll see some changes in the backgrounds and things as we work on it. We're also changing the name of our blog to fit a new direction we're going in. I promise to explain more about that once we have the design all set. I hope that when the changes are all complete, you will love our fresh new look as much as we do!

A Few Ideas to Spice Up Your Summer Outfits

 Hi, everybody!

Emma and I took these pictures a little while ago, during the end of the spring semester. The warmer weather was starting to kick in, but I could still manage to wear a sweater without dying in the heat. If the summer isn't too hot where you are at, then I totally recommend pulling this look together when you're feeling kind of lazy. Despite its simplicity, this outfit appears pulled together because of a few small details.
1.) Clean Converse sneakers
2.) Styled hair and fresh makeup
3.) Cuffed denim shorts
These little details all work together to add some interest and polish to an otherwise simple outfit.

I hope you can draw some inspiration from the details in my outfit and go make your own summer outfits a little more interesting!

Have a great day!

~Kendra :)
