Go Follow Us On YouTube!

Hi, everyone!
Short post today. I just wanted to say that if you haven't subscribed to our YouTube channel yet, I highly recommend that you do so. Emma and I will be posting videos on there that are exclusive to YouTube, so you won't see them uploaded here on the blog. I posted a new video there just today, so go check that out!

3 Tips to Add Some Pizazz to Your Braided Hairstyles

Hey, everybody!

I took this picture of my braided hair a while ago, but today it inspired me to share three quick tips with you about how to add some extra pizazz to your braided hairstyles.

1.) "Pancaking"-- This is a technique where you pull apart the braid just a bit to add some extra volume. You start off with your hair braided normally, and then you pull at both sides of the braid to kind of poof it out. If you're confused by my description, I can make a video and show you how to do it. Just leave a request below! (and in case you're wondering why this technique is called "pancaking," I have no idea. Maybe because your hair is as flat as a pancake beforehand?)

2.) Add an accessory! -- You can add a little unique flair to your 'do by adding a hair clip, a headband, or even a hat. I chose to use a sparkly star clip at the base of my braid in the picture below (look at my reflection in the mirror). It's kind of an unexpected placement since most people tend to wear their clips on the side of their heads.

3.) Frame your face -- Pull out a couple stands of hair around your face to add some framing. This also gives your braid a softer, lived-in look. A braid without any wisps of hair around your face can look severe and boring, so I definitely recommend giving this a try!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and that you gleaned a few new ideas to use the next time you braid your hair. So tell me, do you like wearing braids in your hair?

Bouquets & Bumblebees

Hi, everyone!

A couple weeks ago, I got to do something I've wanted to do for a long time. I got to buy myself flowers from the farmer's market! Have you ever read this quote that says, "So plant your own gardens and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers"? I love that saying. I read it for the first time a few years ago, and as soon as I read it, I wanted to buy myself flowers. I always figured I would do it someday, but I never actually planned it out. The day finally came though! Check it out.:)

I really enjoyed having the flowers sit on my desk for the week. They really brightened up my room and added some fun color. I got sad once they started to wilt, but I'm also excited to go back soon and buy some more!

P.S. Have you ever wanted to buy yourself flowers?

Smuggler's Bounty Unboxing -- Jabba's Palace

Hi, everybody!

Woohoo! I'm so excited, because we've got a new video all ready for you! Are you ready for a new "Smuggler's Bounty Unboxing" video? Check out what was in the box this time!

If you want to order your own Smuggler's Bounty boxes, check out their website. Emma and I always look forward to getting our boxes in the mail. It's a highlight to our day!

To visit our new YouTube channel, you can click through the video or check out the link. All of our old videos are still on our original channel, but I am thinking about staying on that channel and just renaming it. I won't bore you with details, but it would be easier for me to post these videos if I just use our original channel. I don't know though... I'll keep you updated.

And, as promised, here is the picture I took in the beginning of the video of our video setup. The way we film our videos isn't very "professional" or anything, but it works! We stack books and boxes on top of my dog's crate, and this time we used two juice boxes to prop up my phone to record the video. It's nuts.:P

I hope you enjoyed the video! Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Hipster Photoshoot

Hi everyone! Emma here!
A couple weeks ago, Kendra did my make up and hair, then we did a photoshoot.:) I put on my glasses and one of Kendra's sweaters to make me look "hipster-y".;) I hope you like the photoshoot.:)

Kendra had wanted me to have a book, so I chose "Get Happy" by Mary Amato. It's an awesome book, I totally recommend it.:)

For my make up, we tried to do a sort of Adele look, I really liked how it turned out.:)

For my hair, Kendra did a messy bun!:)

Being in a sweater really made me want winter back, since I was really hot in it. I can't wait for winter- boots and sweaters again! My favorite.;)
I hope you guys liked the pictures.:)

Changes Coming!

Hi, everyone!

I'm just writing to let you know to expect some changes on the blog over the next little while. Emma and I are playing around with the design, so you'll see some changes in the backgrounds and things as we work on it. We're also changing the name of our blog to fit a new direction we're going in. I promise to explain more about that once we have the design all set. I hope that when the changes are all complete, you will love our fresh new look as much as we do!

A Few Ideas to Spice Up Your Summer Outfits

 Hi, everybody!

Emma and I took these pictures a little while ago, during the end of the spring semester. The warmer weather was starting to kick in, but I could still manage to wear a sweater without dying in the heat. If the summer isn't too hot where you are at, then I totally recommend pulling this look together when you're feeling kind of lazy. Despite its simplicity, this outfit appears pulled together because of a few small details.
1.) Clean Converse sneakers
2.) Styled hair and fresh makeup
3.) Cuffed denim shorts
These little details all work together to add some interest and polish to an otherwise simple outfit.

I hope you can draw some inspiration from the details in my outfit and go make your own summer outfits a little more interesting!

Have a great day!

I'm also going to include the music/lyric videos to each of our picks in the post below our video, so you can check the songs out! After shooting this video, I realized that I have several other songs that I have been listening to frequently, and it made me wish I had included those songs too. But I can use those songs in next month's video! Anyways, I hope you enjoy our video and the music.

 "Up" - Disney Star Darlings

"Feel Invincible" - Skillet (click here to see the official music video)
