New Year!

Happy New Years Eve everyone! Are you excited for the new year to start? I am.:) I love the thought of reinventing myself with the coming of a new year. You know- new clothes, new attitude, new you! But, I always stay the same. Which I guess is good, since if I were always changing myself, who could keep up?

So I suppose that this year, I won't resolve to become different, but to be braver. I think that I am pretty brave, but I am constantly thinking of new things I want to try, and then I never try them! So this year, I want to challenge myself to try new things. I know that I can call on The Lord to help me with these issues. What about you? Are you going to challenge yourself to try new things? A new trend, hairstyle, food, sport, hobby, or even a new nail polish color! Give it a try.:)

If you want to try a new trend or clothing article, let me know and I'll help you with it! Just email me at uniquelyyou4ever@gmail.com with your question and I'll answer it the best I can. Happy New Year!

Ombre Nail Art

Yesterday, I did my nails with Emma and my cousin April. But Emma's nails didn't quite turn out, so I helped her with hers today. I used this ombre nail kit that I received as a Christmas gift on my nails, and I used the aqua color from the kit on Emma's nails, along with a light pink color. Here are the pics!

My nail kit- given to me by my brother's girlfriend

The nail polishes I used are available here. This kit comes in pink, purple, and the blue I used.

Denim and White

This outfit is so sweet! Yet, it has some edge to it because of the studs on the shoes. You can easily make this outfit into a fall/winter look just by adding some tights and boots. A patterned or cut out style of tights would look great.

Red, Plaid, and Gold

This is the outfit I wore yesterday. I was originally wearing a dark denim military style vest over my shirt, but one of the silver buttons on the vest fell off! So, I opted for a long black vest instead. What do you think?:)

What I Wore Yesterday

Hey! Happy Friday to you! Are you excited? Tomorrow no school! Yay!!! Me and my family are going to decorate our house for Christmas! We'll wake up and have Salted Caramel chai tea, put on Christmas music, and start taking out our multiple Christmas boxes that will come out of our garage. So stay tuned for tomorrow!

Cherry Blossom Nail Art

I found this really cute cherry blossom nail art idea on Polyvore.com, so I thought that I would share it with you! Start with painting your nails in a solid mint green color. Once your nails are dry, take a brown nail art pen and draw wavy lines on your nails to look like tree branches. Then take a darker/medium pink colored polish and use a dotting tool (or a toothpick) to add medium sized dots to the branches. Once the darker/medium pink dots are dry, take a lighter pink polish and dab smaller dots (using the tool), on top of and overlapping the darker dots. Wait until it's dry, and then apply a top coat to protect your nails.

Here are some variations on this style-
1.) Before you apply the top coat, add tiny dots with the nail art pen to the middle of the "blossoms" to add some definition.
2.) Try using the lighter pink color first, then using the darker color.

I hope you like this idea! If you did this nail art, take a picture and send it to me! I would love to see how it turned out for you.:)

Good Bye Harvest Thyme!!!

Today is the day that we have taken down all of our harvest themed decorations in preparation for the Christmas season. It's a tight fit inside those boxes though! Every year, my mom buys more decorations for each season, and this year it looks like we'll need to start a third box of fall decorations.:)

I have a typical go-to look for when I'm working on the house- a T-shirt and some jeans or jean shorts. Normally I don't put my hair up, but today I did.;) Are you getting ready for Christmas yet?

I love to use my button down shirts as a cardigan. All you do is unbutton your shirt and throw it on whatever you have on! Try it out and see if you like the look. Let me know what you think!

To get more mileage out my closet, I don't store away my summer clothing when cold weather arrives. Instead, I add layers to keep myself warm. I've already shown you how you can keep using your shorts and tank tops in the winter, but now I'm going to show you how I use my summer dresses and skirts in the winter. I add leggings and an outerwear item to stay warm- and stay stylish! Then, instead of sandals, I wear boots. Or maybe you could try sneakers, like in the casual look! I also love adding a top over a dress to have it masquerade as a skirt. Tops like sweaters are especially nice in the winter. Have you ever tried putting a top over a dress before?

Thanksgiving is Tomorrow!!!

Hey everyone! I can't believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving! This year, certain members of my family and I have been making little strips of paper with the things we are grateful for on them, and then taping them to a cabinet in our house. Everybody has their own assigned color, so you can see who is thankful for what. Anyways, tomorrow is going to be such fun! We're going to my aunt's house to celebrate. Do you know what you're going to wear for your Thanksgiving celebration? I do! Or at least, I have the general idea.;) I'll show you soon!

Why don't you take a picture of your super cool outfit and send it to me at uniquelyyou4ever@gmail.com I could make your look into an outfit post! Sparkles and Studs

Sparkles-
Sparkles and studs are two of the world's favorite trends of today. I have a love for sparkle and so does Kendra, something about the glitter, shine, glimmer, shimmer, sparkle, and twinkle on any item, makes me happy. If you look in my closet you'll find multiple sparkly clothes including my "glitter is my favorite color" T, my bedazzled skinny jeans, my tutu, and so much more. Sparkles are so cute cause they go with almost everything. They also will be so adorable for the upcoming holidays!

Studs-
Studs are so cool cause they give you that biker look of "don't mess with me." But even though they have a tough appearance, they give you a nice edge to whatever you're wearing. Add a cool vibe to boots with these sharp pyramids, and maybe your next buy will be a leather jacket with studs sewn into the pocket. These 3D triangles are super fun to play around with, so think of them and make one of your buys unique and unexpected with these studs! Hang out 'cause my next post will be about lace! Have a great Thanksgiving!

A Fashionable Christmas and Thanksgiving Time!

Hey guys! This is Emma, even though the profile I'm on is Kendra's. I am so excited for Christmas! All the Christmas decor, trees growing, and the weather. I love this weather, usually we have lots of weather above 80. Ugh! But now we have many days that are under 70 degrees. Yay! Thanksgiving is only a few days away. I love the mashed potatoes, the ham, the gravy, and stuffing other than all the desserts. This year we are going to go over to my aunt's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. She makes the best gooey butter cake ever! Other than my b-day I love Christmas. Our tradition is to eat Cinnabon cinnamon rolls and orange juice on Christmas day. What is your family tradition? This is kind of random, but I love pattern play. I've made an outfit today with pattern play. My brother Parker is included in some of these photos.

Featured Reader- McKenna C.

Hey everyone! This is my interview with the featured reader- my best friend McKenna!

K:“What's your favorite color to wear?”

McK:“Baby blue.”

K: “What piece of clothing could you not live without?”

McK: “My Rock 47 jeans.”

K: “What is your favorite nail polish color?”

McK: “Either french tips or black.”

K: “What trend are you most excited about this fall?”

McK: “What are the trends this fall?(I list some of the trends) Oh! Riding boots!”

K: “Who is your favorite band/singer?”

McK: “Ok... gosh this is really hard... (there's a major deliberation going on) Ok, it's probably a tie between Jason Aldean and Eric Church.”

K: “What is your favorite book?”

McK: “Watership Down by Richard Adams. It's about a colony of rabbits whose land is being taken over by farmers and they're killing the rabbits. Then they have to find a new territory, and they find another colony of rabbits and think that they're good and stuff, but then they realize that this colony of rabbits is like a cult. So they have to take over the leader to help the other colony of rabbits so that they can have a happy life.”

K: “Your style in a word.”

McK: “Country.”

K: “Who is your style icon?”

McK: “Me? Hmm... Maybe.. Uh! I don't know!”

K: “ Who is your favorite actor/actress?”

McK: “(gasp!) What's his name?!?! AH!!! Hold on!- (looks up on Google the guy's name) Oh! Chris Hemsworth!”

K: “If you could only wear one type of jewelry for a year, what would it be?”

McK: “My earrings, because my holes would close up, and I wouldn't want to redo them!"

K: “What's your favorite store at the mall?”

McK: “Umm.. what's it called? I have a bad memory of remembering names of things... Umm, let's just say Wet Seal! Cuz I do like them!”

K: “What's your favorite accessory?”

McK: “A saddle. Haha! Let's see... My leather belt with the belt buckle that I won at the county fair for my supreme grand champion turkey.”

K: “Would you rather wear a tiara or a cowboy hat?”

McK: “Uh, duh! Cowboy hat!”

K: “What's one thing you would change about yourself?”

McK: “Ummm... I would make my hair have a little waviness in it.”

K: “What are three things you love about yourself?”

McK: “I like my tallness, my eyes, and I like that I can get a tan easily. And if I get sunburned it turns into a tan within a few days.”

K: “Do you have a piece of clothing with sentimental value?”

McK: “Hmm... I actually have a lot of pieces of clothing with sentimental value. I guess it would be this shirt my grandma and I are making together.”

K: “What makes you unique? Or makes you feel unique?”

McK: “Everything about me kinda. Everyone is always telling me,'Woah! You're really tall!' or, 'I can't believe how straight your hair is naturally!' And where I live too, sometimes people can't believe what kind of person I am, and that I ride horses and stuff."
